The Lions have announced the signing of lock Andries Ferreira, which bolsters their lock ranks this season.
Ferreira has signed a two-year contract after returning to South Africa following a stint at Italian clu Zebre. The 24-year-old, who matriculated at Affies, has previously played Super Rugby and Currie Cup rugby for the Cheetahs.
Ferreira joins with immediate effect and will look to bolster the lock stock and provide added physicality in the tight five.
The Lions have also extended the contracts of junior centre Harold Vorster and lock JP du Preez, wh have both signed on until the end of the 2016 season. Both players have represented the Golden Lions at U19, U21 and Vodacom Cup level before, while Vorster also impressed during last year’s Currie Cup.
